By downloading or using GarageBinder ("the app"), you agree to these terms. They are intentionally short.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of the GarageBinder app, developed and operated by Plainworks. By using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Description of Service

GarageBinder is an iPhone app for keeping vehicle maintenance records: service history, fuel and mileage logs, reminders, receipt photos, and exportable ownership reports. It runs locally on your device and can optionally sync between your devices via iCloud.

3. Not a Mechanic

GarageBinder is a record-keeping tool. It does not provide mechanical, safety, or maintenance advice. Service intervals you set in the app are based on your input (or general convention), not on a manufacturer recommendation specific to your vehicle. Always consult your owner's manual or a qualified mechanic for service decisions, and do not rely on the app for safety-critical reminders.

4. Your Data Is Yours

• You own everything you put into the app.
• You can export it as JSON, PDF, or CSV at any time.
• If you delete the app, your local data is deleted with it. iCloud-synced data follows Apple's iCloud rules.

5. User Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter.
• You agree not to use the app for any unlawful purpose.
• You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.

6. Intellectual Property

The GarageBinder app, name, design, code, and assets are the intellectual property of Plainworks. The records you create with the app belong to you.

7. Privacy

Your use of GarageBinder is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

GarageBinder is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the app will be error-free, that backups will be recoverable in every situation, or that reminders will fire at any specific time. Treat the app as a convenience, not as a safety system.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plainworks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any damages arising from data loss, missed maintenance, or vehicle issues.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
